Switching off UAC in Vista

What is UAC?

Windows Vista user account system has been built to automatically reduce the potential of security breeches. It does that by automatically enabling a feature called User Account Control (UAC). The UAC forces users that are part of the local administrators group to run like they were regular users with no administrative privileges.

Should I disable it?

in the normal use of Vista - No but as a developer then =Yes

How do I disable it?

  • Open Control Panel.
  • Select Admin Tools.
  • Select System Config.
  • Select  Tools.
  • Select Disable UAC.
  • Simple as that!
